Salt Lake City will have, by far, the largest inventory of unique options available at any time, but especially on a Sunday. Sunday restaurant hours can be tricky in Utah. It's a decent drive with nice views for much of it. The standard route from Moab to Salt Lake is via highway 6 through Price and Spanish Fork Canyon. Also check out The Windows area including Double Arch, as well. Delicate Arch is the quintessential hike. It’s a scenic drive though and Park City would be a nice place to stop for dinner.Īrches would be a great use of time, if you're already in Moab. It’s a two lane highway and you could find yourself stuck behind RVs, campers and vehicles pulling boats that are returning to SLC after a weekend at Strawberry Reservoir. This route will add at least an hour to the drive. That would be driving highway 191 north from Price to Duschene and then taking highway 40 to Park City where you would pick up I80 in to SLC. There’s at least one alternate route back to SLC from Moab. If you leave Moab by about 2 PM or so, you’ll be in SLC about 6 PM. ![]() It’s a four drive back to SLC from Moab by the fastest route. There are no concessions inside the park. Take plenty of water with you as well as food. You will probably want to be done in Arches by early afternoon. As the day progresses, the heat will build. You may want to drive to the lower viewpoints for Delicate Arch. Then work your way back out to the entrance stopping at Skyline Arch, the Windows section. Drive to the end of the scenic drive and go to Landscape Arch. Get up very early so that you can be at the entry gate by 8 AM. Spend as much of the day as possible in Arches.
